CHARACTER INFORMATION

Personality:

The word that describes Chie best is caring. She cares so, so much about her friends and other people - especially Yukiko. Satonaka will go far out of her way to make sure they are safe and protected, even if it means putting her own life in danger. To Yukiko, she is the caring big sister and knight in shining armor in one, who will fight off anyone who upsets her. As for Yosuke and Souji, she's the bubbly friend that they get along with so well — although she and Yosuke often argue over unimportant matters. Like her friends, Chie is known for her strong sense of justice, a hatred for the evils of murder, and knowing the sin of thinking bitter things about someone.

She is also known for her cheerful and positive attitude. Usually she is very happy and jokes around with her friends; Chie is very much an optimistic character. Her biggest flaw is her short temper - even though she spends most of the time cheerful, it is very easy to anger her. Yosuke is usually the one to annoy Satonaka to that point. When she gets mad at him, she tends to use copious physical violence against him - something played for laughs in her canon. Another flaw - ignored by Chie herself - is that her cooking is terrible. Chie is a tomboy character and loves fighting, kung fu, and eating a lot of red meat and steak. Although she is a tomboy and obsessed with martial arts, she still manages to dress in a feminine manner and wear things like skirts and the color pink.

Somewhere deep down inside, Chie is a very dominating person and likes the idea of people needing her. Whilst her shadow was obsessed with this and was obviously having unhealthy amounts of fun with Yukiko needing her, normal Chie just wants to be able to protect someone — this is why she seems a very sisterly character to her friends. She also behaves well around Souji's baby cousin, Nanako. Since she is so young and sees Chie as an elder sister, this makes her feel good about herself.

Satonaka has a lot of courage, and a loyal heart. It takes a lot of courage to go through the TV world and face the shadow of yourself; ever since Chie and her friends have accepted themselves as they are, they started to learn more and more things about one another. She did not like accepting her shadow at the time, but the more she fights with her persona, the more she realizes that she's not a bad person and it's okay to rely on her friends. Chie is needy for being needed by others, and this sometimes brings her down. If she feels like someone doesn't need her or want to be her friend this could depress her and make her feel alone.
